Resident Evil: Extinction came out in 2007, bringing us to the wasteland. The T-Virus spread across the world, devastating ecosystems. More important than any of that, of course, is that another character from the games appears here!
Alice, having received genetic enhancement, has escaped from Umbrella and has gone on the run. The movie opens, however, with the evil corporation running morbid experiments on clones of her. As they throw another dead Alice in the trench that serves as a mass grave, the opening credits roll. Then we see Alice traveling my motorcycle through the desert. Here she falls in with a group containing some familiar faces, including Carlos and L.J. from the previous movie. Amazingly, L.J. still has his badass guns. The leader of the convoy is the female lead from the game Resident Evil 2: Claire Redfield.
This movie had entertainment value, but Alice's genetic enhancements, derived from the T-Virus, gave her psychic powers, and that's really pretty silly. It was a fun movie to watch, and it was nice to see game characters, but this is the point where the movies veer away from the games HARD.
Hollywood says I got ideas and then this what happens
