Here we have another, wild Resident Evil movie: Resident Evil: Afterlife. Grab a mug and fill it with your blackest coffee, because here we go!
As Alice's clones take the fight to Umbrella, she herself flies around, looking for her friends. In Alaska she finds and fights Claire, who is controlled by a strange mechanical spider that was delivering drugs to her system. Even after removing the device, Claire's memories are gone. The pair fly south and land on a prison where they were signaling for help. There since the beginning, the group has been trying to find a way to get to the ocean nearby where a ship with a familiar name is waiting.
Here, in the bowels of the prison, we meet Claire's brother, Chris. Chris Redfield was playable in the OG Resident Evil game, and his disappearance is what brought her to the Raccoon City Police Department in the RE2 Remake. We also meet obscure new zombies, and a new, gigantic, Nemesis-like creature.
This movie felt like fanfiction to me. Of course, it was fun to watch, but the psychic clones were super silly. Alice loses her powers in a twist of fate, levelling the playing field for her foes.
