Movie Review: Fear Street: 1666

The conclusion to the Fear Street trilogy on Netflix did not disappoint. I think that of the three, the first one had the best soundtrack and the second one was the most engaging, but Fear Street: 1666 tied up all of the loose ends nicely.

The movie opens a literal second after the previous one ended, with our heroine Deena witnessing the twisted ancient beginnings of the curse over their town, Shadyside. The music during the hour it took for them to return to the modern age was fitting, as it was creepy fiddle music.

Then, the action is returned to the nineties, and the characters go to war. This was fun to watch, as the fear of the situation had dissolved with the understanding of what was truly going on. I'm going to leave this intentionally vague.

The story tied up nicely, finishing up with a great cliffhanger. I have heard that Netflix approved another trilogy, but I hope that they leave this particular storyline alone and grab another story from R.L. Stine's Fear Street lineup.
