Mindwatching by Frizzy J

FrizzyJ

I’ve been trying to keep tabs on my mind

To see where it comes and goes

Funny thing, when it catches me watching,

It stops in its tracks

Like a toddler in trouble

Silence pervades its roils and folds

Does it stare back?

Does it just shut down,

Like a beaten housewife?

There is joy in its silence, I find.

It fills me from head to crown

And again to the ground

Alas, I notice and pull my focus away

Away

And away my mind flows

All quips and backhanded blows

Tearing away at me

Just for trying to know me
