Hallway Earth by Frizzy J

FrizzyJ

It has just occurred to me

That while I’m losing all my friends and family

That maybe they weren’t right at all

Nor I for them, along this hall

This corridor of life and strings

Of connecting webs and traps and things

To hold us down and force the memory

Of tainted, misbegotten, loveless revelry

Of hate and pain

And loss drowning in the rain

Of beatings brutal with the cane

Endless and redundant, a horrendous refrain

So, here’s to better days

And brighter ways

To make it through

And come at last to that final glorious view

Of a world we loved

And loved to hate

Long before it beat us down

And loomed above in cape and crown
